6th International Symposium on In Situ Nuclear Metrology as a tool for Radioecology - INSINUME 2012

The IRE (Belgian National Institute for Radioelements) and its subsidiary IRE ELiT, in co-operation with the IUR and the European Commission, are organizing the 6th International Symposium on IN SITU NUCLEAR METROLOGY AS A TOOL FOR RADIOECOLOGY (INSINUME 2012) from 11 to 15 June 2012. The conference will be organised in Brussels (Belgium), after having been previously held in Dubna (Russia, 2010), Rabbat (Morocco, 2008), Kusadasi (Turkey, 2006), Albena (Bulgaria, 2004) and Fleurus (Belgium, 2002).

As for the previous ones, the 2012 conference will address a rather broad scope of topics in radiological monitoring of the environment and radioecology to illustrate the multidisciplinary nature of the involved sciences and the growing needs: Regulatory framework concerning the release of radionuclides and the monitoring of radioactivity in the environment, New technologies and methodologies in radioactivity metrology, Quality Assurance, Radioactivity levels in environment and transfer of radionuclides, Impact of radioactivity on environment and population, Nuclear metrology in incidental/accidental conditions.
