This workshop is organized by the IUR, the Fukushima Medical University, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and Mc Master University, Biology Dpt.
The overall objective is to collaboratively develop a shared strategic vision for waste management and environmental liabilities associated with the deployment of small modular reactors (SMR) in remote areas.
This will involve a series of presentations on the work and findings of the various speakers, followed by final sessions
- to consolidate all the key insights, opportunities, and risks identified during the presentations
- highlight areas of agreement and disagreement among the experts
- and organize the priority ideas to serve as an immediate working basis for drafting a position paper
