This book contains proceedings of the annual Radioecological readings
named after V.M. Klechkovsky (1900-1972), the founder of national radioecology,
participant of the USSR Atomic project. It includes the first unclassified
offset publication of the Biophysical laboratory of the USSR Ministry of Farming
affiliated to the Timiryazev Agricultural Academy in Moscow "On the behavior of
radioactive fission products in soils, their uptake by plants and accumulation
in crop yields" edited by V.M. Klechkovsky, Moscow: USSR Academy of Sciences
Publisher, 1956. The book is intended for specialists in ecology, radiobiology,
agroecology, protection of agricultural areas from anthropogenic
effects.
2. Radioecology: Results, State-of-the-Art and Prospects. International conference, Moscow 3-5 June 2008/ Ed. R.M. Alexakhin, Obninsk, Offset printing Shop, 2008. 320 p.
The papers included in this book deal
with problems of radionuclide migration in the environment, ionizing radiation
effects on biota and ecosystems (with special attention to low-level ionizing
radiation effects), combined effects of ionizing radiations and pollutants of
non-radiation nature on biota, ecological dosimetry. Also discussed are problems
of remediation of contaminated regions and radiation protection of the
environment.
